Facebook - Follow AVC on Facebook for up to date news, photos from club rides, trips and other things cycling related. (You'll need to request to join the group).
Strava - Follow AVC rides and competition related activity on Strava and if you're riding with the club, make sure you're part of the club on Strava.
Whatsapp - There is an informal Whatsapp group set up, mostly based around people organising fairly ad-hoc rides. If you're interested to be part of this, email James Buchanan or send a request using the web contact form .
Throughout the year club members organise various social activites ranging from a few drinks at a local watering whole, a curry night, a trip to London to the Comedy Club or a trip to The National Cycling Centre for example. Feel free to make a suggestion for something either cycling or non-cycling related to do 'off the bike'.
There are many opportunites that arise throughout the year to attend or take part in various cycling events. These range from going to watch a stage of a pro race, taking part in an organised public sportive (e.g. the Prudential RideLondon), taking part in a local road race or time trial (e.g. Icknield Road Club TT) or doing an excursion for an AVC-GT related bonus challenge. Again, feel free to chat with others and make suggestions (and feel free to post suggestions on the AVC Facebook page).
There is also opportunity to get together with others in the group for weekends and trips away for the purpose of getting miles on the bike in a new location or attending an event. Recent trips organised include France and L'Etape, Portugal and Wales. Some trips planned this year already include the Lake District, La Marmotte and the Passo dello Stelvio. These are all orgnised informally by group members, so if you're interested, ask around during a club ride or post on the AVC Facebook page.
